Been absent for a while...

Quite losing the drive and inspiration to write...

But the past IS the past...

Now that I AM BACK...

It IS what matters :)

don't you agree?

stoopid flood

Dang....dang....dang....

Jakarta is in a HUGE mess, flood is everywhere. The airport was closed down for some time, the highways were buried under water... and my home-sweet home is now having that unwelcomed guest.

So sickening.... it has never entered my house before, literally. The most was just at the front yard where I found a dead fish before. Now, the water level is up to thigh and the electricity was cut. My parents and bro are still there....shietttt..... *huhuhuhu

Pic courtesy of Kompas.com

Wondering how tomorrow will be... coz it's already at waist level on the streets. Please...

For all the flood victims, be strong and take a good care of yourself ok!

For the government, isn't it another IMPORTANT sign to even start planning on a better city planning and management?

For everyone else, start taking good care of the mother earth *if you haven't done so* and keep up the great job *if you've started to do so*... your lives, your next generation's lives and your next next generation's lives lay on your hand.

We all can make a difference!!

Aye...Xmas xmas xmas

Dear Santa,

I know I have never written to you for the past 23 years. This will be my very first time, I hope you understand though.

This is my first time spending Christmas all by myself, no family members, no friends whom I've known for months or even years, just super nice colleagues in Perth. It wasn't a glamorous celebration either, it was more of a quiet one. No eye-catching bling bling deco, no repetitive Christmas jingles, no big sale as in Singapore or some other cities *I am sure*. No turkey, no champagne, no eggnog, none. Just a simple Doner Kebab plus fries and Pepsi that cost me 9AUD accompanied by FoxTV.

Well... anyway, my point is ...
I have been good this year. I do.

So, are you coming?

Merry Christmas Santa...Merry Christmas everyone!
Love is in the air heee...

FreeRice.com

Got this from Pixi' blog. It's an interesting site where you can test your English vocab while doing your part to help end world hunger.

Try it out!

Here is an article on BBC about it:
http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7088447.stm

"An internet word game has generated enough rice to feed 50,000 people for one day, the UN's World Food Programme (WFP) has said.
The game, FreeRice, tests the vocabulary of participants. For each click on a correct answer, the website donates money to buy 10 grains of rice.Companies advertising on the website provide the money to the WFP to buy and distribute the rice.FreeRice went online in early October and has now raised 1bn grains of rice. That is enough rice to feed 50,000 people for one day, the WFP said on Friday.
'Viral marketing'
The head of the WFP, Josette Sheeran, said: "FreeRice really hits home how the web can be harnessed to raise awareness and funds for he world's number one emergency."She said word of the game has spread with the help of internet bloggers and websites like Facebook and YouTube."The site is a viral marketing success story."FreeRice is the invention of US online fundraising pioneer John Breen." can you help me?

Dear friends,

Right to the point, I have a favour to ask here. If you opened my humble notepad here *read: this blog*, am sure you'd be welcomed by a nice song from the slideshow. So, being known as a super laggard, can you please help me to download the song?

It is 'Ache' by James Carrington. A sad song with deep meaning and catchy tunes *for me at least*.

I really appreciate your help and I hope that any one of you would beep me for that. I am hoping to find the song greets me when I open my mailbox next time.

Thanks much and you've been of a great help, pal.

Cheers,
Dee

ps: Will update my happening weekend next time k :)

postcard challenge

Spada....

I am back with Postcard Challenge.

What is that?

A German friend of mine started this project recently. Due to our mass use of electronic devices and thus the change in our communication channels, he is now nostalgic about receiving 'physical' communication channels. Something that he can treasure and hold on too. Well, I do too.

Isn't it a great feeling when you looked into your mailox and found that colourful postcard or a simple letter in white or pink envelope waiting patiently for you to read? Am sure it is.

So.... why don't we start this Postcard Challenge. Send René Springmeier a postcard (or more) and if you're the lucky Top 100, he'll send you a postcard (or more) in return.

For more information, check this out: http://postcard-challenge.blogspot.com/

His address:
René Springmeier
Mohlstr. 44/5
72074 Tuebingen
Germany

ps: Spread the news...but NO spamming please!
