More exams to come

Congratulations!!

"All of you passed your exams :) "

Yeay..yeay...4 papers were finally over and done.
Well, some batchmates had to retake some of the papers, but thank God... I passed :)

However, it seemed that our celebration only lasted during the weekend. Why, you asked?
Coz next Monday we will have another exam for another course.

Whattt? In a week you have 5 papers?
Yeah babe...

What else?
Hm....let's see. We finished the 15-cm long notes in 4 weeks time before we had our exams. Then, after Paper 4, we collected 2 more new sets of materials in two separate folders.
So what?
And today... again, we received another 7-cm notes *ha...ha....ha.... headache snutt snutt snutt...

Now we pronunce that it ain't easy job for sure.

How did we celebrate then?
The class decided to go to the clubs as we get free entrance *wahaha....* and discounts too.

However, I joined them later on around midnight. I went to AIESEC Mentorship Night at Harry's Bar. I can't describe how much FUN I had. I laughed alot, talked alot, teased alot *Sharon, I wasn't high. I was overjoyed!

It was a really great feeling to meet my @ friends and newbies, although I wasn't even familiar with alot of them. I miss AIESEC dearly.... I miss having such a great time with ol' friends and even if I don't know them, we seem to know each other before. Miss you guys so much.

At almost 12pm, I reached Zouk - Velvet with some @ers. When I arrived, Mawar has already drunk *pretty cute heh. The music sucks to the max... retro?? big no no. Hip hop? yeah..cool, but I could hardly breathe -___-''

Around 2pm we decided to migrate to Clarke Quay. Ow...we met plenty colleagues at Zouk though. At Clarke Quay, some of us merely wanted to hang out, have some drinks and chat. But but but.... due to certain circumstances, we had to enter Ministry of Sound (MoS).

Dang...I expect something HUGE and AWESOME, y'know. Trance music seriously hurt my brain. I fell down to the floor, being kicked around to the corner while I screamed in pain... *hahah jk jk. Nah...seriously it's NOT my cup of tea as well. Yet, the show must go on. There we were, a bunch of creative people, choreographing silly dances and laughing our lungs out.

Not bad....I burn some calories *muahahaha.

Ow.... I'm gonna have my training flight to Sydney and Tokyo. Nice.... too bad it's only a 1-nite stay *sigh...

I'm at Istanbul

Time: 07.50
Location: Behind *bucks Coffee at Atakoy Airport, Istanbul

I made it this far, an over-12-hour flight. Pretty fine except that my 'new' seat couldn't get the in-flight entertainment signal and thus I was forced to rest.

The plane did not take off till almost 12 midnight due to the heavy air traffic at Changi Airport, but it was also coupled with the strict security check for all our carriage.

The lady who sat next to me was from Indonesia *hahaha what a coincidence*. She's on her way to Istanbul, working for a gov institution with her hubby. She shared some things about Turkey which can help me when I travel there later.

It wasn't full house, so many passengers have extra space to put their heads and legs when they rest. So, I decided to move to a new seat, 2 rows behind. So, I paid for one seat but I got two seats. Unfortunately, these new seats couldn't catch the signal for the in-flight entertainment. So, went to sleep till 4am in the morning when my body started to ache.

Walked down the aisle to the toilet while serching for more empty seats... haha I wasn't the only one I suppose. All were taken, either by bags, blankets, heads and legs. Couldn't sleep so was kinda contemplating for some time before I tried different positions to rest well. Didn't wake up till my Esprit watch showed 8am.

Couldn't stand any longer, I asked the lady in the centre seats to give me one seat from her four seats *hahaha*... So, I spent the rest of the journey watching Joey, Friends, Two and a Half Man and Nada Sou Sou.

Hey Lele....who said the movie isn't sad at all. It IS, although it's not so sappy. But it's a touching story hehe I have a thing for movie starring small kids or like when they go back to their past and childhood moment. That's why I like Jdorama and Kdorama haha *pizz...mungkin lo lagi stress Le pas nonton hehe ato keburu bete ama cewe yg nangis sesungukan itu loch..^^

Turkish Airlines definitely can't beat the well-known Singapore Airlines. The cultural differences and the 'service level' are intertwined. Guess what:
They don't greet Sir or Mam
They speak casually
They don't have Apple Juice (but Tomato, Cherry and super sour Orange Juice)
They smile less
They put the bread bucket on empty seat (while servicing the food)
and....what surprised me most..
They passed me the bread without serviette. Straight in front of me, so I need to use my hand *wow*

However, what I like are:
Pretty cool in-flight entertainment (not too much options but a good combination)
Bright blue seating and blanket *very hip and fresh
Not too full *haha...I can have two seats

Okei...just wanna say that I've arrived in Istanbul safely, leaving to Kiev in 35 minutes.
Update you guys later...with some pics :)

Ki wo tsukete!

my internship figures

Let's play with numbers :)

Finally I spent some time to exercise again after being busy for the past few months due to Final Year Project. Gosh....it's FUN! Feel a bit like tai tai *Chinese for rich wife who usually spend time playing mahjong, gossiping and shopping* these late few days too.

And heaven's yeah...I finished another Kdorama series "My Girl". It's OK only, slightly boring and draggy *as usual*. So, 2.5 thumbs up coz the main actress is cute and very cheerful, making those who watch her feel happy too. You can watch this if you have extra free time or bored.

My name is Kim Sam Soon or My Lovely Sam Soon is GREAT. 4 thumbs up and better watch this if you think you're a big fan of Kdorama. Love Hyun Bin *the main actor*. He screams H.O.T. The cool hunk, Daniel Henney, is in too, but guess I don't really like his acting there *and that wide forehead huhuhu pizz*. Sweet supporting actress, but she gets on my nerves *haha....the script forced her to act that way

Ja...already copied lotsa movies onto my lappie and HDD haha

Branding, Innovation and Social Responsibility workhop

Did I mention about my AIESEC NTU workshop before?

The one where we got both cash sponsorhip as well as venue sponsorship?

And not to forget, 3 prominent speakers from its field?

Not to be missed: A famous strong lady to chair our panel session?

Well, it finally happened last Saturday - 3 March 2007.

***

AIESEC in NTU is proud to present a workshop on ‘Branding, Innovation and Social Responsibility’ that features prominent speakers of Mr. Hermawan Kartajaya, the president of the World Marketing Association, Assoc Prof Hooi Den Huan, Associate Dean [Corporate Services] from Nanyang Business School and Assoc Prof Wan Chew Yoong, Acting Head, Marketing and International Business, Nanyang Business School.

We are honoured to have Ms. Claire Chiang, Ms Claire Chiang , the Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, Banyan Tree Holdings Pte Ltd and the president of Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility to chair the Q&A session.

The audience..okay, this is incomplete ^.*

I'd like to thank our sponsors for enabling us to make this event happened too: CPA Australia and Singapore Compact.

The Organizing Committee deserves a round of applause and a real pat on the shoulder for doing such an amazing work. They must have learned alot during the process: taking into account my 'nagging', meetings with Prof Hooi, the team and the Preparation Seminar team coz it's a dual event, my constant emails asking for information and updates, the strict visual guidelines of AIESEC and the sponsors, the endless emails with the speakers and sponsors and many more. I am really really proud of you guys....such an independent committee that I can rely too. Thanks for making my stay in @NTU worthwhile. Lucia, Anubhav, Grace, Wira, Chewy, Lita, Hazel, Jun Ming, Haoyang, Boon Ming, Alvin, Pang...you guys are our real assets. Keep the great work k!

The great OC team and the speakers.. *woo hoo

Time for some actions baybeh!

Great thanks and congratulations to the Preparation Seminar OC team too. The emcees, Celine and Aaron for accommodating our requests. The AIESEC members, the Member Committee of AIESEC in Singapore, the Student Nominees, the NTU students and members of public....thanks for making this happened.

The event was a full house, that we even prayed that some people who have bought the tickets would not turn up. The place was nice with Singapore River and Esplanade as its view. We had the Sky Garden at the side too *haha and we made full use of this place to take crazy pics for sure.

The girls' power! *Chewy...we can edit you in ^^

The speakers were very happy to be part of our event. Everything went smoothly, no major incident or error happened. They were impressed by our professionalism. The audience found the workshop as insightful, some even said that 'It probes me to contemplate'. Amazing!! And yeah..I couldn't stop smiling whole day because of that.

I am really really lost beyond words to explain how proud I am with my members. They have grown alot during this 3 months preparation period. From knowing nothing about organizing an event, they learnt all the small nitty gritty details. Well...I was a biatch too when it comes to some incidents where we had to accommodate last minutes changes and requests. Sorry ar, but I won't let my team being 'bullied' too *huh...

Here is the team, minus Chewy, Alvin, Haoyang, Boon Ming and Pang.

Seriously....This makes my journey as Local Committee President [LCP] of AIESEC NTU more colourful. Too bad if you missed it... AIESEC can only do so much in providing you with all the platforms and opportunities, whether you take it or not... It's up to you!

So, yeah..it's great, we know. What else can I ask, you guess?

My freakin precious pic ^^

A reply on my mailbox:

"You are great organiser.

I also saw your leadership.

I am proud of you Diana.

Keep in touch."

Sent from my BlackBerry® wireless device from XL GPRS network

ps: In case you have no idea who is HK.... He is Pak Hermawan Kartajaya... *awgghhhhhhh can't stop smiling, smug face now.

GUYS, it's GREAT to be an LCP!

Would it be my last?

No matter how much you love it, sometimes you just have to it let go.

Same goes for APXPRO or APXLDS [AIESEC's Asia Pacific conference].
I went for APXPRO last year in Phillippines carrying my Local Committee President elect title, but this year I don't think I will be able to attend the India's APX with my 4-more months title.

I do not have the chance to enjoy being an APXLDS delegate [which is more relaxed and less intense, and comes with lotsa dances and roll calls], and maybe.... maybe last December's @SIPO NLDS was my final conference.

M..A..Y..B..E...!
and I don't like this 'MAYBE'.

Why do we have the Water Day event on 22nd March? Why must we do this project instead of tons of other projects out there? Will you let me take a week's leave from school? Will you penalize me for doing so? Do you need me here? CAN I GO? SHOULD I GO?

Why do I wanna go heh?

No matter how much you love it, sometimes you just have to it let go.

ps: Wish you guys all the very best from the depth of my heart. Wish you all the best blessings, and the strongest heart and will ever. I wish I could do more... but I don't know how. PISSED!

BBQ is FUN...and FUN is BBQ

So, are you single?
'Yes'... came out as soon as the question was asked....
by a bunch of Mama-razzi

Are you available?
Er...hid his face and try to run away... but NTU will keep on haunting ya dude!

The 6kg chicken proved themselves to worth the challenge. It was delicious and endless [too many]. We basically finished everything except the chicken and 2 loaves of bread: tangerines, fishballs, sausages, bread, otah, marshmallow, corn and drinks.

Started with a couple of guys and I fought to lit the fire, then became the chef of the day with son-in-law Xie Wei, Uncle Nic, daughter Wang Fang and Qiqi as the food-tester *hee.... he wish lor*. Later I joined the 'crazy' group of girls to play around and ask totally spontaneous random questions to the other guys, just for the sake of having fun *wakaka...it IS fun. In the end, Xie Wei was the first victim, then Siew Yik, then Peggy, then ... then ... then ...

I like sharing coz it helps us to bond. By sharing, you're in a way saying that you're ready to trust the people you share the stories to and therefore they will share in return. It's a mutual thing. Or even if it does not happen that way, well... the step in getting to know oneself has been laid and I think it's good to happen. I like when everyone took turn for Q&A, made jokes of oneself or others, gave constructive inputs, shared their XP and offered their thoughts on certain issues. Seriously...I luve it! and I am much more in luve with @NTU *awhh....

So, here it is: the cook, the provocator, the interrogator, the supporter, the cheerleader, the listener and many more. Not to forget...an estatic LCP [Local Committee President].

Btw, before the BBQ, I went for maybe one of those most important events in my life, those that will create a huge impact in my life, those that when I grew old I can look back and smile for going and doing it. It was AIESEC Student Review Board.

It was scary I have to say. I was scared that I took it too lightly, that I did not plan and put much effort into it. Butterflies were playing hide and seek inside my 'tummy' *huhu* and the two hours wait did not make it easier. Hearing that my turn was after Dei was even more disastrous ... coz the two of us have totally TWO different styles. Dei, his visions and diplomatic answers. Dee and her bluntness. If you're an interviewer, which one do you pick? If you're going for a job interview, which style do you use? Geez...

To cut it short, due to certain circumstances they finally changed my interviewers and I had to wait for another round before my turn. Yap... more butterflies and even their babies were growling.

OK...Smile...Take a deep breathe...Enter...Say Hi...Shake hands...Intro myself...and try to make myself as comfy as possible.

And then the rest was a story... I talked alot, we laughed alot. I answered the questions, they asked more questions. But one thing was apparent...they nodded too!

Heaven's yeah...I GOT IT!! I GOT IT!!
and to massage my ego abit...I am highly recommended *haha.
But... I do wish to get feedback on my interview skills & performance. Can I?

Counting down: 2 days to the over-commercialized Vdae, 4 days to home sweet home :)

100 chairs... 100 miracles...

Life's been freakin' busy with FYP, AIESEC, meetings, ...

I don't feel like going to classes...

and it's hard to focus on so many things, not to mention planning on my future.

Although I am motivated about all these...but at times, it's getting tiring...

and I need a break, a decent break.

www.100chairs.youth.sg

Miracles that knocked my doors for my 100 Chairs *thanks*:
1. N*stle gonna send its MILO van over
2. 7*th Street sponsors 100 membership cards and promo outlets
3. 2 Hairstylists coming down for our event to do styling of course
4. 10K from sc*pe to run the event [finally man..finally.. after a long wait and thoughts of killin myself]
5. Performers and artists coming in...and we have more than enough now.. just send us bidders starting from now k
6. 42 cartons of N*Water [504 bottles]
7. 12 Chair Adopters value at $4100,- [yeay yeay]
8. Funky and full of enthusiasm sc*pe workgroup and volunteers *I feel young again..haha I am Young!
9. Hate rejections, but I'm kinda used to it now -__-' [It's seriously demoralizing when you keep getting rejections from the companies and although your peers understand, you feel bad for not being able to give em cash..cash babe! but well, it's over now.. I need chair adopters instead.]
10. 2 weeks from now... just 2 more weeks. Cya there!

Meanwhile, I am nut sure if I have been delivering what I am supposed to deliver for my AIESEC stuffs. So many things to do and it's not getting any lesser. The to-do-list keeps growing without giving me additional time to do it. So sorry my dear AIESEC friends, hopefully after this, I'd be able to contribute more k.

Anyway, a month from now I'll be back at my home sweet home. Wish it's longer than merely a week stay. Away from Internet is a great thing for Goodness sake, realizing how dependent we are over this online media.

After the Chinese New Year holiday, my sis is coming to Singapore with me and will need to find a place to stay. So, anyone with 'lobang'..please do let me know k.

Heaven yeah....Itsumi is coming...and I started my Japanese level 1 today.

Just need to know, when and how do you know if it's the right one?

another day has gone..

I had one of the best Xmas party ever in my life last Saturday. Not solely because I don't celebrate Xmas and thus the few fingers that can be used to count how many times I've attended such gatherings, but it was because the sharing that we had.

And sharing... is always caring ^^

A potluck party it was. From delicious Bishan's Hainanese chicken, home-made sandwiches and soup, unique and man-cooked Bhindi and Prata from Pakistan *I lurve this* to amazingly cute and yummy Middle Eastern cookies and Bristish tea. Sharon, Lucia and I tried to show our cooking skills by making banana choco which is supposed to be easy. But it was a disaster due to wrong choice of chocolate although it tasted nice *appearance can be deceiving*.

As usual, AIESEC is not complete without the dances and rollcalls. So, there we were...dancing the evening away and tried to shed some carbs *Thx that the neighbours didn't complain hehe*.

'I have never..' was the game of choice for that evening. And being the innocent angel as always, I could see some dissappointed faces when they could not make me drink *I chose green tea coz I can't drink*. But it was FUN looking at some people making fun of themselves *wakaka... and knowing them better.

At midnight, some of us invaded Jacqui's room and played 'Hotspot'. This games is where everyone takes turn to be the hotspot and the rest can ask any questions. From life, experience, relationship, aspirations to the most random questions that you can think of.

What's the most challenging event in your life?
What's the nerdiest thing you've done so far?
If you could change your nationality, what would it be?
What do you think have changed you the most for the past one year [means since I was elected as President of AIESEC in NTU this January or when I started my internship till now]?
What do you look for in a relationship?
Describe yourself in a sentence!
and many more...

I love such games coz I get to know my friends more and more, and in a way I feel as though we are more bonded. It was not easy to be the one who answered especially when the you don't want to give too much answer, or you simply have no idea how to respond. Yet, I don't mind sharing whatever I can and hope people could learn a thing or two from my experience or simply provoke them to think forward.

I am still glad I was there. Thanks to my members who organized it *really proud of you all...and thanks for those sumptuous meals yeah... . Thanks to Cecilia to let us use her condo. Thanks to everyone who came and made the most out of it. Thanks for all sharings. So happy.

Awh... Sharon mentioned that her fave song lately is What hurst the most by Rascal Flatts. She sent me the song before but I never really noticed the lyrics until she claimed that it was a great one. So... yah I browsed it, read it, and here it is... it is nice..and deep and meaningful.

Again, as a mellow Cancerian.... it is getting lonely here ^^'
and I don't like it.

S*it...

What hurts the most
~ Rascal Flatts

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don’t bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok
But that’s not what gets me

What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin’ to do

It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I’m doin’ It
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken

What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do

What hurts the most
Is being so closeA
nd having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
Not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do

gosh....it's an amazing NLDS ever

Disappointing!!

Yup, that's what one of my Executive Boards commented on AIESEC in Singapore Leadership and Development Seminar. He is disappointed 'coz it was ONLY 4 days. Great one! ^.*

It was a super BLAST I must admit. I can sense that the delegates change since their first day till the last day. The energy was superb. The performance was incredibly impressive that the facilitators' team was awed by them. The OC team was always ready to assist with smiles on their faces. I lurve it! I lurve to be part of this fabulous bunch of people.

Sessions time... with dances, rollcalls....You guys are impressive!

Although the first day was a lil boring due to the nature of the session, Developing Leaders Day which invited external speakers from Microsoft, CSR Asia, SMU and DHL, was another experience for me. The best was definitely our yellow mafia team - The DHL Asia Pacific trainees - you guys really rock the house. Yippee...

This is my second NLDS and last year, I was one merely of the delegates. This year, I joined a great bunch of AIESECers in the facilitators team. It's really an inspiring and eye-opener experience. 12 facilitators from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Poland, Luxembourg, Egypt, UK, Canada and Russia. Can you believe that? Working with them was so much FUN FUN FUN. The synergy, the witty jokes, the lamest craps on earth, the 'ehm ehm' dances and rollcalls, the diversity of opinions, their wonderful ideas and so many more.... are worth missing. Miss you all! I am proud to say that I just found myself another 'family' in Singapore. Life can be lonely at times, especially when you're busy running by yourself.

HIV/AIDS World Cafe session...
WE have our own cheers that is so wrrooooonnggg *wakakaka

I like so many parts of this year's NLDS. I lurve the stamina and spirit that my @NTU members showed. I do hope that you guys learned and enjoyed this as much as I do. I miss those impromptu rollcalls that we created *remember when we sabo NUS?? hehe*, the sharing session that ended with pictures taking *hehe poses no 1438B and 1-10 k*, the discussion on world's issues, the LC Rewards and Recognition announcement and those group hugs ...gosh...gosh... You're unbelievable! Thanks for being my motivation to keep on running and striving for excellence yar. Let's do it together k!

@NTU poses no. 1 -9

Ow... I got myself a new nickname. Bet my faci team lurves me too much *bonk bonk* that they called me 'China Bowl' and the whole plenary started calling me by that. Hahaha.. no worry, I am cool with that. Y'know what I had several pics of mine drawn by the delegates during their 'Sharing is Caring' session [which requested them to share on the good case practise or USP of their Local Committe] ..hiks hiks..touched. *too bad I lost all these pics whooaa...

Global Village on Day 3
*haha ate lotsa snacks from Taiwan, Egypt, Korea, India, Japan, etc..

Hm..seriously I am proud to be part of NLDS. I am proud to be selected into the faci team. I am proud to know so many great people. I am proud to have such EBs and members in my @NTU. And yah.. I am proud to be an AIESECer.

Hiks....post-conference depression mode is ON. And to make it worse, I lost my laptop with all the pics inside *shucks...shucks.. I lost all pics from Day 1-3 *OMG, how can I get those pics back??? I want them back!!! The value of the lappie lies in the content and data inside it. Gosh... I can't believe I feel numb over losing my 'unpaid lappie' but overtly depressed over losing those pics and data inside *tears flowing..shucks..

Hm..no matter what....Life goes ON!! We'll meet again somewhere, somehow, some time great bunch of people.

L-R: 'Bing gege' Taiwan, Sze Fei, Dee, Lucia, Jessie, Tom Taiwan

And now...let's focus on Final Year Project and my AIESEC Branding, Innovation and Social Responsibility talk *yay*...

Who rocks the house?
NTU rocks the house...
It's up and down... and all the way round.

I know you know we like... Owhh NTU...

NTU aha aha.. I like it aha aha..

Mwah....mwah... So honoured to be part of you guys.
