dear nastya

I am leaving for Frankfurt tonight. Yeah...December 1st, December Fool *haha.

It is friggin' cold there, around -1 to 2 degree with rains. I am going to take the train to Braunschweig to meet Nastya, my dear pretty Ukrainian friend. Hopefully I wouldn't freeze myself along the way *haha* and lose my way there.

Awhh...can't wait to see you again after over a year... and who knows this might be my last chance to see you while I am still flying ;)

The Netherlands

It is 5.47am in Los Angeles and I am comfortably putting my b*tts on Hilton's seat *haha. Too many things going on my mind and everytime I fall asleep I keep dreaming of the same thing again... so here I am choosing to update my long overdue post *hihi...peace yaa
As soon as we reached the hotel, we arranged for our itinerary, asked many questions at the concierge, showered and got prepared in an hour before heading out.
Day 1 itinerary:
Apparently, Den Haad is quite a distance if you check the map. But the train merely took an hour and real cosy.

After spending almost 3 hours at Den Haag, we returned to Amsterdam and took a stroll around the central towards Dam's Square.

We walked back to the hotel instead of taking the tram.. nice weather, nice company... but tired souls

Next on the agenda was the evening canal cruise... haha so romantic heh!!

The canal cruise was good, but we were simply too tired to fully enjoy the trip. Half-way through I fell asleep... before I woke up and forced my eyes to open up.

After the cruise...we accompanied the guys to the Red Light District. It was cold, we were tired but at the same time... curious hahaha

so yeah... I saw lotsa ladies in different shapes, sizes, skins and skimpy clothes..or underwear *haha... too bad NO pics are allowed to be taken there.

boo haa....

Random update:

1. I can't find my new pair of black jeans. Oh no... my one and only black colour jeans...where art thou?
2. Officially no more 24-hr day off in Singapore for this month... It is gonna be a superbly tight month huh!
3. Just had a wonderful dinner with Phoebe, Sharon, Imran and Jing. Imran's bro was there till 9pm too. So funnnnn catching up again!
4. I miss home... I miss gathering and talking cock...hahaha
5. I am going to Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi and Tokyo-Los Angeles....*yeah yeah confetti baybeh...
6. A very special friend is coming early next month *haha... I am waiting ok!
7. Phoebe is moving in in December.... can't wait to stay together with you sis
8. New fingers' exercises routine: sms and MSN *haha
9. I went for a swim for 2 days in a row... wah, so proud!

Bottom line: I am happy :)

#1 break fast

I had my first 'break fast' last Saturday. Not the morning breakfast, but the breaking of fasting.

Yasmine invited us to her grandma's place. She's half Singaporean, half Egyptian. So, we had an Egyptian dinner *yeay yeay. Had so much delicacies on the table... We're consisted of Msian, Indonesian, Dubai-er?, Egyptian, Bangla, Indian, Kenya. Yummy heh...

It was FUN FUN... the food was definitely superb! *too bad I didn't realize it's a break fast dinner and arrived late wif Phoebe.

Yeah... make me realize I do miss hanging out with my friends... man, lotsa stories to tell already leh...

ps: forgot to bring camera again... sigh

who's in town?

Hey hey...

Look who was in town!!!

The Russian-Australian Alex was stopping over for a few days before he departed to Melbourne. It's been over a year since I last met him when he came for a CEEDer-ship with AIESEC Singapore.

He finished his one-year AIESEC Member Committee term in Bahrain, traveled to dunno how many countries in UAE, paid India a visit with *ehm ehm*.. and came to Singapore for a shopping spree before saying bye-bye.

We went to an organic cafe at Sommerset *see I can't even remember the name now* because our dear Starbuck has gone. hint: Alex is a real fan of Starbucks... or maybe its wi-fi haha.

Yeay.....I just cleared my Probation yesterday *muahahaha....
no more 'P' next to my name...
but that also means...
I have to be ready for whatever comes my way, I am a full-fledged crew now :)
CONGRATULATIONS Batch 928!!!

Finally, after over 6 months we will be meeting again *at least some of us haha* to celebrate this next week. Am so looking forward to it.

The past week or two, I managed to meet up with some friends. Happy happy...
Met brother Melvin and Brian for 928 over steamboat buffet and crappy talks
Met Ratna in Sydney and reminisced our hi-school life and shared our stories
Met AIESEC friends for a Japanese dinner at Waraku last night... finally!! after missing so many events.

I am happy. Life is good!!

ps: I am off to Zurich tomorrow. Bless me!

Unforgettable Fresco

Yeah, finally the anticipation and excitement of going to San Fransisco was fulfilled *huahuahua
Had an amazingly fun time visiting places, eating different cuisines, taking pictures. But most importantly, meeting Yohan and catching up again after so long... hm..over 4 years?

On my arrival day, we went for a Thai dinner. Lots Basil leaves I gotta say *hahaha and I am not a fan of those.

As usual, jet lag lingered. My eyes were wide awaken at 4am and I had to force myself to get back to sleep. To no avail, I decided to watch TV at 5 plus *sigh. Went for a hot bath, grabbed a pack of french fries before I met Yohan again for brunch.

food galore

Last weekend was full of FOOD, FOOD and FOOD~

Nick from @Taiwan was in town with his sister who looks seriously much younger than her age *oh my haha...what's the secret?
They tried Katong Laksa, Curry Seafood in bread, Satay, Peranakan food and black pepper crab.

Awh... diet ruined but much enjoyment. What a sweet 'sinful' pleasure... :)

The beauty of Switzerland

After a long 12.5hr of flight (and that means we worked almost 15hrs), we arrived in Zurich - Switzerland. I have been looking forward to this flight... simply because... it's gonna be another holiday where I get to meet my friends *yeay yeay

And talk about how lucky and such a coincidence it was for me to get this flight...
Gaudi invited me to become of the facilitator for their AIESEC Leadership and Development Seminar in Zurich...
I replied that I'd love to, but afraid I can't coz our stay won't be that long (3-4days of LDS plus pre-conference meeting) and I can't change my flights yet.
Who knows... when I checked my new roster soon after that, I GOT IT!!
Well... sorry that I can't make it for the faci but at least we can meet up :)

Owkay...so we reached the hotel at around 8plus. Washed up, unpacked a little, took a nap and there I was on my way to the city at 12noon. We met up at Parade Platz where I saw UBS and Credit Suisse. Basically we can find UBS and Credit Suisse almost everywhere *hahaha remind me of some dear friends in UBS n Credit Suisse heh.

We walked a little, put my big bag at his place *I'd be going to Bern anyway* and then off for lunch. Gaudi showed me around the city, crossed the bridge to the Old Town and we headed up to the rows of pubs and restaurants.

I ordered a clam soup *can't remember the name* which was YUMMY... and spaghetti with black truffle *Oh my..my first truffle.. haha
The portion was alright, but the cream was really thick and therefore I couldn't finish my meal.

Later on... we went to this church where we climbed up to the tower :)

Coffee is a MUST in Switzerland. So, we went to the always crowded Spruneli to sip some

Next stop: Bern
So we walked to the Central train station and bought a ticket (46CHF for one-way = around S$65).

The train is nice, fast, clean and comfortable. It takes merely 1hour to reach Bern *haha* and the view throughout the journey is wonderfully amazing.


There I was at 6pm at Bern. Dan and Kate were there to fetch me. We walked out from the train station and they showed me the Parliement House. Too bad we can't enter it then. FYI, Bern is actually recognized by UNESCO as a Cultural World Heritage Center :) I am lucky to be able to pay them a visit.

Here it is....
Okay...here is the funny story. We were supposed to reach home by 7.30pm for dinner with Dan's parents. So, to save money, we wanted to use the 1/2 fare ticket *which by right I was not supposed to as I am not a student there*. I might be fined if there's check. Anyway, after some arguments, I decided to give it shot. We couldn't be sooo unlucky heh!
hahaha... seriously, one stop after we entered, there was a check by an old lady. Oh my... Kate was worried, I was pretty worried too, but tried to stay calm. So, I told Kate...let's hop down when the bus stop *hahaha we did and we missed the check*. In the end, we walked home for over 25mins :)
Dinner was great. I experienced the traditional Swiss dinner: melted cheese and baked-potato. Although I was already full, I just couldn't say NO. They offered me different kind of cheese and we had a wine toast too. Followed by fruit salad and another cuppa coffee.

A long night chat followed straight away. And I went to sleep at 12midnight with a tired soul.
Woke up at 9am and we exchanged our presents :)
I received lotsa chocolates *Easter is around the corner, so you can find Bunnies everywhere* and a pair of Swiss glasses *cuteee....

We were out for sightseeing after breakfast. We headed south to the Gruyere village. I almost ventured out of Switzerland... while driving, Dan pointed to the mountains and said: That's France *woo hoo... haha

Here is Gruyere... it's kinda high above the sea-level so it was COLD.
And I can see snow traces on the ground :)

After the village, we went to visit the Cheese Museum. Look at those cellars!

COOL heh!
Do you know that:
  1. The cow eats 100kg of grass and drinks 85ltr of water per day, producing an average of 25ltr of milk daily
  2. 400ltr of milk = one 35kg round of Gruyere cheese
  3. 12ltr of milk = 1kg of Gruyere cheese

Frankly speaking, I did not want to return to Singapore. I love the country, it is so calm and serene. A nice place to retire from the hustle bustle of life. Love it even more because of the great friends I have there... Thanks much for the wonderful time and companion.
