I am overwhelmed with interviews...

I just had my sixth interviews for the week today. I had five interviews at MTV in which the first one was totally er... *censored..

So, I went there today, and found myself being interviewd by 4 different departments.
The 1st one was Nickelodeon - AdSales. I was interviewed by Geraldine who apparently is a NTU Alumni (She's from Communication Studies as well woohaa..). Despite her tiredness and jetlag (yeah..she just returned from London and Paris), she a super nice person. I only had around 8 minutes of talk with her, and hope that one is good enough to let her have a great impression on me hahaha *wish..wish... (oh..she gave me her name card, so I'm gonna email her later hohoho)

The 2nd one was from Talent Artist Relations. Hm...this one is a bit tricky as she expects us to know alot about artists, music, and even big labels haha I told her I like Audy (she rocks lar..), and I don't have particular fave band in mind as their songs can get boring as you listen more huhuhu *is this a good sign?* but she likes hip hop more to rock, so we have something in common here. But then, she asked which I would prefer: Talent Artist Relations or Network Marketing (this is what I actually applied for)? And I can't choose any one of them coz they deal with totally different groups of people...hope I gave a satisfying answer when I said I am really interested in TAR after hearing all your explanation. I like working with people, liaising and building networks. I gave IAF2005 as my example (Thanks IAF2005!) of how it can be totally unpredictable dealing with 3 artitsts and that I haven't been to network marketing interview so I don't have a clearer picture in mind....*sigh* Please2..I don't mind intern here hehe

The 3rd one is the nicest lady ever. She is the director of Nickelodeon Marketing Communication department, she is superbly busy, but yet she still tries to spend some time interviewing me and my one other friend. Actually the programme scope on the web is painstakingly boring, so no one actually applied for that. But when she explained about it, WOW....I just couldn't believe it. I'll be the most-multitasked (is this correct? haha) intern in MTV *hohoho* I'll be dealing with the programme, events, marketing, media, everything..you name it!! And after falling in love deeper into this one, she finally gave me a Nickelodeon notebook..wah..so nice!!...hm..gotta get this one..please2....pray my friend..pray for me yar...

And the fourth one made me do a simple test..ugh!! don't like it but it's from PR department hahaha wondering if I am taking the wrong course now in NTU.

I would say they are all nicer than the first lady from Client Services. Apparently, the other two friends said the same thing about her..she's so cocky, bla bla bla...until Joanna came in and I think Vilia (her name though) likes her. So, they were chatting about how crazy the ladies at the client service dept are, how they drink...na na na...yeah Joanna, you go girl!!

So..what should I say? just pick me..HULLO, don't you hear me?

Oh btw, I saw VJ Utt today..OMG!!! twice...and he's so adorable...he's amazing..*darn..focus gurl, focus haha..but what can I say more? he's very....sexy? I like your hair Utt hahaha and your jeans..and your tee, and..ehm..what else? *okay2..shall stop here or else you're gonna roll down from yoru chair..and blame me for sending you to the hospital hihi Just don't send me the bill ok!!

Last note: pray for me my friend...pray...harder...hikss

Been through 2 interviews now.

And I MUST say...the first one s**ks huhuhu
It was MTV and I actually didn't apply for that particular department. MTV's HR Exec called me and asked me to try another department, Client service department.
And..what I have to say:
I don't like the jobscope. I don't like the interviewer, too.

What I like is how MTV is strategically located just next to Dhoby Ghaut MRT station and Plaza Singapura. Owh..and the fact that they have 2 free vending machines hahaha..you bet TWO and FREE!! Not only that, the culture is splendidly casual and creative. The staffs do not wear the usual safe colours -black, grey, white and brown- shirts and blazers, but you can actually wear anything. From tees, jeans to tank tops hahaha...okie2..kewl place but with again..superbly low allowance ($450/mth).

YEAH...talk about those cheap labours (don't deny it Mam, action speaks louder than words *.*)

The second one was Burson Mastellar. It was at Suntec City, and again quite strategically located with lotsa shops, eateries and even Carrefour haha

I performed better on this one, I think. I feel more comfortable, more expressive and have more things to say (yes, because she asked me too haha compare to MTV whereby she was the one talking and I was the one listening -.-')

So, it's a totally different culture from MTV. This is more 'professional' (note: furniture, dress code, and the staffs). Hm..can't epxect too high, my peers from SCI are deadly competitors haha There are 14 applicants from NTU, she will shortlist 10 before giving it to the director. The director will then interview the shortlisted interns and then..OH LA LA..only 2 will be selected *hiks..pray hard, pray hard my friends!

The allowance is slightly higehr than MTV with $600/mth and I can claim for taxi if I have to stay back until 8pm and above haha *nut bad rite?

So now, I am desperately waiting for the Cityneon's one. The list has not out yet *fingers crossed* hm..don't wanna be rejected, don't wanna wait till last minute, don't wanna go for 2nd phase selection..don't wanna be stressed up!!

Pray my friends, pray....

IAF2005 is a huge success...

This wasn't me who claimed so, but the audiences that came on that day.
Students of secondary school while being interviewed by Global TV: "KEREN BANGET!!!"
Dai, my friend in Communication studies said that he enjoyed this year's IAF more than the first one. "I prefer IAF2005 to that of 2003."
And many more....

What a relief...all the hardwork, the stress, the pressures....gone...when they said that this was a superb show. Minda, a friend who never watched IAF2003, shows her interest in participating in the next IAF (it's a bi-annual event though, Ming!!)

Sold more than 1100 tickets excluding VIPs and complimentary tix, the team has shown its solid work and strong commitment. Psst....Esplanade even offers IAF to perform there..haha *what else can we ask?*

Too bad I didn't manage to take pics with Desta and Ari Daging. OMG, they are so professional, not complainant and superbly funny and friendly. Despite their tiredness (landed in Singapore on Friday afternoon and followed the whole rehearsal on Friday and Saturday..WOW), they always welcome the fans and the most important...act as though they are just an ordinary people who happen to be chosen as our MCs. Unlike certain people who act as though they are so-darn-popular-that-we-can-do-whatever-we-want kind of poeple.

So, wanna read the news:
Kompas, Radio Singapura Indonesia

Pics (not yet uploaded hehe so can see from other ppl's blog k!! ^o*):
By Henry SmugSmug
one more from Oscar's relative

yah...hope that even when you're not here to attend the event, but when your read and see the pics, you can still feel the HYPE!!

Indo rockzz...

Btw, gonna have my interview for internship within this week (actually today, Monday morning). Monday: MTV, Tuesday: MTV, Thursday: Burson Masteller, Citineon's is not in the list yet. Wish me luck guys!!! *trembling huhu

Been quite some time since my last posting....which was written when I was in my superb dee-press-ed mood haha...but, I still don't like 'Flash' kay!! able to write now doesn't mean I have forgotten how I dislike it haha *pizz dink

Okay, now I wanna share about my GL outing last Friday night. To cut it short (hihi...talk about sharing LOL), we finally went to watch a midnite movie instead. Oh how I love the movie: CINDERELLA MAN. It is a GREAT movie I would say, not to mention the talented actor n actress behind it (Russel Crowe and Renee Zellweger). The movie really opens up my eyes, to see how the bourgeoisie and the proletariat struggle and finally survive. It touches the 'human' part of me.

Even though the setting for the movie was in 1930s and 1940s..but yet I saw the world of today in it. How our lives now revolve to what has happened in the past. The poor, economic depression, unemployement, survival, ..., ... *the list goes on and on

Therefore, I recommend this movie to you all. A MUST WATCH movie!!
OW...NO...I insist you all to watch it (but you must bear the 2-hr plus movie hehe, and don't blame me if yo don't like it....we just have different taste then hehehe).

Change topic..

Kokom, Henny and Kokom's sister, Hani are in town hahaha so happee.
We finally met up after several years of not seeing each other. We went to dine at Sushi Tei Takashimaya. The order process alone took around 20mins hahaha...and we sat there for almost 3 hours. Drinks were topped up more than 15 times, went to the loo for a total of 6/7 times. Hahaha *what a great statistics*

Following that, we went to Cineleisure to take neo-print pictures. I shall say the process itself was so entertaining. Knowing no single letter of Japanese language, no assistance by the shopkeepers, we were guessing each and every steps. You can definitely hear the "Hoo...ARGH...press this...ARGH...OH NO...ARGH...What happenned?...ARGH...This or that?...ARGH...which one?...ARGH...Sure?..ARGH...Look at the camera...ARGH...bla bla bla"
But in the end, the pics are fabulous *hihi...narcistic* ...added with our hand-designed blink blink.
Hm..wil try to upload the pics (if only I remember how kay! hihi) or else can go to my FS).
Note: Kokom's expression, the flower and crown on their hair...

ow..did I mention that Henny is going to marry next yr? The registration of marriage will be held in Spore next month. CONGRATS ya Hen!! can't believe it? So do I. But I think she's ready for it. She's much more mature than her age, she's wise, she's smart, she's caring, she's diligent, she's fun to be with, she's someone who you can talk, share secrets and stories, and consult to. She's definitely gonna be a fantastic MOM!..yeah..you go gurl!

The bottomline for this: I miss my dearie friends so much...and yeah..nothing beats friendship!

So, free baquette for everyone today. Brought back from Fish n Co. today hehe *rather than letting the baguette ended up in the trashbin...better ended up in my intestines and stomach hihi

Have a great recess week arrr!!

Annoyed...Stressed...Depressed...Confused...Anguished...

So much for a flash...hate it like hell huhuhu

Gonna be a long torturous Thursday for this semester...why?

Should have chosen another subject, maybe 'Communication campaign' instead...
*argh...

And it's not even a recess week with all the assignments, group projects, make-up lecture, ... yeah..so much for 'an undergraduate experience'...

Mie sitting here...

thinking...
imagining...
fantasizing...

reading and typing...

trying to find the right words, the right sentences, the right adjectives, and the right way to present myself in writing my Cover Letter.
*FYI, this cover letter is gonna be used for my Professional Attachment though.

Stuck in the corner of my brain cells, I started to browse....guess where?
haha Smart one, Friendster.com.

I read through my friends' judgments of me, their this-is-what-I-think-of-Diana testimonials and also the old long high school memories *miss em much* but then, apart from..

impressed...can't help myself from smiling...can't restrain myself from thinking of the "Moody Diana" back then...I realized...

"You're thinking too highly of me my friend! I appreciate it, but I am afraid I may not up to your expectations. Perfections aren't that close with me..."

Let's fight together...miss you all!!

I may have not enough time to spend with you guys today, these days, and maybe some time in the future,...I am sorry for being "individualistic", for not keeping in touch, for not telling you my stories anymore...for being lost in a place called "world"...and I am truly SORRY for that. But I hope you're doing well there, and deep down...I do miss those times we had, those stories we shared, those laughs, those jokes, and so many more "those"...

Hope you're all-ways DOING GREAT there!

A Treasure in a Box

A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door.

It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.

Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday." Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

"Jack, did you hear me?"

"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.

"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.

"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said."You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said.

"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown.

Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time.

Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.

"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.

"The box is gone," he said.

"What box?" Mom asked.

"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.

It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.

"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.

Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.

"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.

Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved: "Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."

"The thing he valued most...was...my time."

Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days.

"Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.

"I need some time to spend with my son," he said.

"Oh, by the way, Janet..thanks for your time!"

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away."
